About Us

History/background

The Net Shed was originally opened in 2004 by Terry McMacken. He was a brilliant businessman, with high standards and morals. He passed away in 2008 and The Net Shed closed. We have reopened the business and hope to continue the great customer service, high standards, and 100% positive feedback.

Used Fishing Nets?

All our used products are recycled by us! We search for products that can be reused – not shipped to our land fills or overseas. We have seen the inside of some strange places, old storage units, old net sheds units, the inside of many boats, basements, and attics. I will not even mention a dumpster or two… We also have plenty of net purchased by fishermen and not used for fishing – hence our – new used nets.

Hanging Your Net…

Buyers should think big when measuring. It is okay if the net is 1 foot to large (cut it!), but if you are 1 inch short you will not be very happy. The difference in hanging fishing nets & sports nets is – fish nets hang in a diamond shape, sports net hang square. The net can be hung by using line, rope, twine, zip ties, cable, etc. When we cut and measure nets we make them larger than stated. We do this so buyers have extra net to work with. If we sold the nets by standard fishing measurements you would have to be able to professionally hang the net to get it to stretch to the exact measurements. So remember you can always cut more off the net but it is complicated to sew net back on.
